Just Deadpool Things

Just flashed back to when the first Deadpool released. I was fresh out of the super culty church my wife and I met at. I went to see Deadpool with my father-in-law and my two brothers-in-law. I felt guilty. Yea.

Deadpool is absurdly over-the-top in every way. It's the entire point of the character/comics/movies. I felt guilty going in to watch the movie because of how excessively profane it was. I knew the members of That Church would NOT approve and that many of them were openly speaking out against it.

(Let's take a quick side note to really appreciate how nonsensical this is. Deadpool is ridiculously excessive. And it does this for the sake of humor. It's over-the-top in a way that makes it clear that it doesn't even take itself seriously. And these people are so far gone in their cult-like mentality and self-righteousness that they take it seriously and then actually have the gall to judge others for not doing so πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„.)

Anyway, despite the background guilt, I went and watched the movie. And I'm glad I did. It was hilarious, and Ryan Reynolds nailed every aspect of the character and the movie as a whole. I went and watched the second, too, and it was just as good. And I'm currently making plans to go watch the third.

I don't really have a moral or anything to this story[1]. Just something I thought of and thought I'd share. Happy not-being-in-a-cult.
